Inspiration + Design
The latest and possibly my favorite design in the Haven Family, the Haven Tee is here! My most popular designs to date are the Haven designs, so it was an obvious choice to expand the line with this boho crochet top, and I can not be more thrilled with how it turned out.
For this boho crochet top, I decided to do a very simple boxy style with an oversized fit and of course a beginner friendly construction. It is made in 2 long rectangles, folded in half and seamed in the middle and the sides to create the neck and arm holes. It really doesn’t get any easier than that!
The Yarn
When I was thinking about what yarn I wanted to use for my boho crochet top, I obviously was immediately drawn to my all time favorite yarn, Lion Brand Coboo. It is a category 3 light weight Dk yarn made up of a blend of cotton and bamboo. I absolutely love the feeling and the drape of this yarn, not to mention all the amazing colors that it comes in!

Construction
Count 80(81, 81, 83, 83, 85, 86, 86, 88) stitches from the one end of each panel, place a stitch marker. This will be the center stitch, where you will fold the rectangle to divide the panel into front and back pieces. The front of your top will have 64(65, 65, 67, 67, 67, 70, 70, 72) stitches and the back will have 80(81, 81, 83, 83, 85, 86, 86, 88) stitches.
Measure approximately 7.5”(8”, 8.5”, 9”, 9.5”, 10”, 10.5”, 11”, 11.5”) from the fold down and place a stitch marker. This will be your arm hole. Cut a piece of yarn approximately 3 times longer than your side seam. Starting from your arm hole, seam the sides of your top together. If you would like to leave slits on the sides of your top, stop seaming approximately 3-4” from the bottom. Repeat for the second panel.
Once both panels are seamed at the sides, lay your rectangles next to each other to form your top. Count approximately 69(70, 70, 72, 72, 74, 75, 75, 77) St from the bottom on the back side of both panels and place a stitch marker. Count approximately 43(44, 44, 46, 46, 46, 49, 49, 51) St from the bottom on the front side of both panels and place a stitch marker. You will now have 32 stitches in between your stitch markers. This is your neck hole. If you would like your neck opening to be bigger or smaller, adjust the amount of stitches in between your stitch markers. Take your yarn tail and mattress seam up to the stitch marker on both panels.
Bottom Trim
Join yarn with a Sl St on one of the bottom corners. Ch 1, and Sc around the bottom of the panels including the side slits. Join with a Sl St to the first St. Finish off.
Neckline Trim
Join yarn with a Sl St to a stitch on the shoulder area. Ch 1, Sc around the neck opening. Join with a Sl St to the first St. Finish off.
Tie off, tuck in those ends and enjoy your New Haven Tee!
