Inspiration + Design

It’s that time again…… time for my next summer design, The Harlow Crochet Halter Top. I love this top so much because it’s so versatile, can be made in any length, works up super quick and did I mention that it’s reversible. So you basically get two whole tops in one….. talk about a win-win.

As with all my designs, I used very beginner friendly stitches with slight variations to create a simple yet unique texture. This crochet halter top is worked from the top down, which allows you to easily customize the fit and length to your liking.

The Yarn

For this Crochet Halter Top I used Lana Grossa Classico yarn, a category 3 lightweight cotton yarn. I also made a second using Lion Brand Coboo yarn, a cotton/ bamboo blend. I honestly can’t say that I preferred one yarn over the other, but I do highly recommend using a cotton or cotton blend yarn for a light weight and breathable top that you won’t get too hot in.

Construction

Lay your panels on top of each other, making sure to line up your rows. Using your yarn tail, seam up the sides of the panels along the black lines.

Straps

The straps are made to your own personal preference. Simply chain the amount of stitches to reach the desired strap length. If you would like your straps a little thicker, you can do a row or two of Sc. Tie off and put the straps through the top corners of the tank and tie the two ends at the shoulder to secure.

Tie off, tuck in those ends and enjoy your new Harlow Halter Top!
