Inspiration + Design
Summer time is the absolute best time of year, the sun stays up a little bit longer, the days are slower, and the outdoor fun is at its peak! If you are anything like me, that outdoor fun is almost always water related!
So, obviously a cute and versatile Crochet Beach Top was the perfect choice for my next design.
Simple + Versatile
Since this crochet beach cover up is made in one long rectangle with simple stitches and easy row repeats, it is the perfect summer top for a beginner to tackle.
Wear it as a swimsuit cover, into the water or pair it with your favorite jean shorts to complete your summer look!
The Yarn
For this Crochet Beach Cover up Pattern, I used Alize Diva yarn from Perfect Yarns on Etsy. It is a category 2 Fine sport weight yarn. I chose this yarn because I was looking for something that was going to be really light weight, yet durable to be worn in and out of the water. And this yarn has not let me down!
It comes in over 50 beautiful colors, from the brightest summery colors to the perfect neutral shades. There is certainly a color for everyone with this yarn!
Since this yarn is not as readily accessible to everyone, a good substitution would be Lion Brand Beautiful You yarn. It is 100% acrylic and machine washable just the same as the Alize Diva Yarn is. It also comes in a wide variety of beautiful colors.

Construction
Fold your rectangle in half length wise making sure to line up your bottom edges evenly. Place stitch markers approximately 7.5(8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5, 11) inches from the top to mark off your arm holes. Cut a piece of yarn approximately 3 times longer than your side seam. Starting from your arm hole, seam the sides of your top together. If you would like to leave slits on the sides of your top, stop seaming approximately 3-4” from the bottom.
Tie off, tuck in those ends and enjoy your new Kahe Kai Top
