About the Crochet Boho Vest

Ok, so let me tell you a little bit about why I designed this Crochet boho vest in the first place.

I like to think of myself as a very simple kind of girl, at least when it comes to my wardrobe. I love to look like a million bucks, but I sure do not want to spend the money or the time shopping around and trying out all the latest trends.

Especially not when I can design and make my very own pieces of fabulous clothing that will become well worn and well loved for years to come.

I love pieces of clothing that are very versatile. Like I said, simplicity plus style is how I roll!

It was summer in Texas when I designed this crochet boho vest and if you have ever been to Texas, you know the heat ain’t no joke! 🥵 So a cute and airy boho vest was on the top of my mind.

The Yarn

With the heat being a big factor, cotton yarn was a no brainer. And of course, Lion Brand had just come out with a brand new yarn….. Comfy Cotton Blend! It was the absolute perfect choice for my crochet boho vest, because it is a size 3 light weight yarn and the colors are just dreamy! If you make this vest, I highly recommend this yarn!

The Construction

I like to keep my designs simple and straight to the point. This vest is worked in 3 separate panels, one back and 2 front panels and then seamed together at the end. To create a unique and airy look, I chose to go with crossed treble crochet stitches. These stitches may look complicated, but I assure you, they are much simpler that they look. As always, the pattern has a full stitch tutorial to walk you through the whole process.

Finishing Touches

The last thing my vest needed was some fringe, because everything is better with fringe!!

This crochet boho vest is truly a vest for everyone. Easily adjust the size and the length; add fringe or leave it with a neat edge. Throw it on over a pair of shorts and a tank, some jeans and a tee, a summer dress or even your swimsuit. No matter how you choose to wear yours, it is sure to add that extra pizzazz to all your outfits!
