How To Crochet The Spider Stitch
Are you ready to learn a new simple crochet stitch that will add beautiful texture to any project? The Spider Stitch uses just single crochet and chain stitches to create this unique looking fabric! Find the full written and photo tutorial below!
Here’s what you will need for today’s tutorial:
Any size yarn and crochet hook will do for leaning this stitch. For this tutorial I am using a category 3 Light weight Dk yarn and a size J (6.0 mm) hook.
Abbreviations
Ch- Chain
Sc- Single Crochet
St- Stitch
To make the Spider Stitch, start by chaining an even number of chains.
Row 1: Sc in the 2nd Ch from the hook.
*Skip the next Ch. (Sc, Ch 1, Sc) into the next Ch. *
Repeat from * to * until 2 Ch remain. Skip the next Ch, Sc in the last Ch. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1. Sc in the first St.
Skip next St. *(Sc, Ch 1, Sc) in the Ch Sp. Skip the next 2 St.*
Repeat from * to * across until last St. Sc in the last St. Turn.
Repeat row 2 until desired length.
